South Africa Adio

When I came to South Africa after the Elections in 1994 the country was in the honeymoon stage. The Rugby World Cup was held and gave the people a sense of belonging to one nation.

This idea of a Rainbow Nation died very soon after when the Truth and Reconciliation talks ended. Nowhere in these talks did the ANC take responsibility for the crimes they committed against society and in their camps.

Then the constitution was examined and it was found to be racially very similar to the old apartheid method of division by colour. Affirmative Action (AA) tried worldwide has been to protect minorities , why is it not so in South Africa. I have read that this does not help the 9% minority, only the 91% majority. The same goes for Black Economic Empowerment ( BEE ) , this has only enriched those that already had money or had friends in high places.

The poor have only been given grants which do not allow them to improve their lives, only stop starvation. The working class have been mostly employed at municipal level and the government seems to be the largest employer. Unfortunately we have people in jobs they are unsuited to or have not been given the training needed.

This could have been avoided if there had been Education before transformation. It is a crime that these people have been responsible for the great skills drain on this country by making transformation by numbers. Companies that are now parastatals are mostly failing as they are headed by incompetent CEO`s who just want to enrich themselves.

Accountability is what is needed, when millions or billions go missing, no one person is held responsible as the law says you are innocent until proved guilty. These people use very expensive lawyers and make the case last so many years, that the case very rarely gets to sentencing. Those that do are usually let out of jail very soon on probation, which they usually ignore. This is not good for the country as people assume that the Judiciary is not independent, and probably why we cannot get certain people extradited here.

I was very positive in 1994 but have become very negative over the years since. The government seems to have a hidden agenda where they are trying to emulate all the mistakes that have been made in the north. Maybe its because the were made by Africans and they want an all black African Africa.

I notice that we have quite a few people on our blogs and forums pertaining to be Black, I would really like to hear their views on this negative perception.
